Leaving a Legacy through Endowment

Perpetuating Conservative Judaism in Akron translates into perpetuating Beth El Congregation, as we look to the continuation of the role of Beth El throughout our lifetime and that of future generations. The naming of a child, the education of children, confirmation, marriage and funerals are times when the Synagogue’s position is one of unquestioned primacy.  Even to the non-Jewish community, the Synagogue symbolizes the distinguished home of our religion and culture.

Beth El continues to fulfill these roles as our ancestors fulfilled their responsibilities toward its preservation.  It is our turn to do our part by increasing the Endowment as the financial base of the Congregation to assure future generations that Beth El will be here to serve their needs.

Donations to Endowment can be made in several ways. An outright gift of money, real estate, securities, mortgages, stock or other personal properties given during one’s lifetime provides not only a tax deduction but also the satisfaction of seeing the results. Remembering Beth El in your will is another means of perpetuating your family’s name in Beth El’s future.

Insurance Assignments
When Beth El Congregation is made the owner of a life insurance policy, annual premiums may be deducted under existing laws.

Family and Business Trusts and Foundations
Tax-favored foundations are urged to include the Beth El Endowment fund on their permanent list of charitable beneficiaries.

Please contact the Beth El office or Endowment Chair Marsha Friedman at 330-603-1890 for more information.
